Milestone: IESG Ballot has Been Issued
Another milestone has been reached. The document survived the IETF Last Call and now the IESG Ballot has been issued to seek approval to publish the BGP Large Communities specification as a RFC.
The Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG) is a body composed of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) chair and area directors. It provides the final technical review of Internet standards and is responsible for day-to-day management of the IETF. It receives appeals of the decisions of the working groups, and the IESG makes the decision to progress documents in the standards track. (source: Wikipedia)
The following link describes the IESG Ballot Procedures. At the time of writing, the document needed nine more YES or NO OBJECTION positions to pass. The current vote status can be reviewed here.
Large BGP Communities is on the IESG telechat agenda for discussion on 2017-01-05, and should progress quickly in the new year.
