BIRD: Fourth Large BGP Communities Implementation
The BIRD Internet Routing Daemon (BIRD) project aims to develop a dynamic IP routing daemon with full support of all modern routing protocols, easy to use configuration interface and powerful route filtering language, primarily targeted on (but not limited to) Linux and other UNIX-like systems and distributed under the GNU General Public License.
BIRD version 1.6.3 will support Large BGP Communities, thanks to a patch by Matt Griswold from 20C and a commit by Ondřej Zajíček.
This means that a fourth implementation of Large BGP Communities is now available! Having multiple, easily accessible implementations is crucial for interoperability testing.
